by troysworktable on 10/24/2011 @ 9:16am | That's just what I've been telling people: "Grapes of Wrath 2.0"
|
by NineInchNachos on 10/24/2011 @ 9:18am | grapes of wrath meets the road warrior. now that's a film. |
by Thorax O'Tool on 10/24/2011 @ 9:27am | Add in some Mad Max for good measure. |
by NineInchNachos on 10/24/2011 @ 9:47am | the factory smoke in the background gives the illusion that some industry has survived. Aroma of Tacoma is recession proof |
by Thorax O'Tool on 10/24/2011 @ 10:37am | You assume the location of this comic is Tacoma. However, in reality it is an unnamed hybrid of many locations as needed to facilitate the story. |
by NineInchNachos on 10/24/2011 @ 10:43am | 'aroma of tacoma' is a global phenomenon. I assume nothing! |
by The Jinxmedic on 10/24/2011 @ 10:49am | Mad Max is different from the Road Warrior exactly how?
|
by NineInchNachos on 10/24/2011 @ 11:09am | in Mad Max there was still an active police force and government. Road Warrior is Mad Max like 10 years in the future... after nuclear/ecological apocalypse.. no government... just patchwork of warlords. |

by Thorax O'Tool on 10/24/2011 @ 8:22pm | Reiterating what I've already known sure killed my good mood :( |
by The Jinxmedic on 10/24/2011 @ 8:58pm | I know the settings of the movies. I saw the Mel-Gibson-dubbed-into-American-English "Mad Max" in the theatre when it first hit our theatre in 1980, and then "The Road Warrior" in 1982. I was referring that it was the same character. Geez. Give me a break already. (I don't count "Beyond Thunderdome", solely because the production values were too high...) In fact, the other day (okay, it was last year) I saw a copy of Max's black Interceptor driving down the road in Lakewood. Not just something that looked like the Interceptor, but a gen-u-ine 1970's Australian Ford Monaro GT complete with blower and aerodynamic nose, just like in the movie. I was pretty well bowled over by seeing that one on the road. |
by NineInchNachos on 10/24/2011 @ 9:01pm | hidden machete and extra gas tanks in the back? |
by The Jinxmedic on 10/24/2011 @ 10:02pm | I believe the tanks were there, can't vouch for the machete, though.
