So much unhappy noise on the cosmic-mind-stream about the 8 of 44 issue--in particular the MYSTERY SELECTION PROCESS--everyone has something mean-spirited to contribute! Cartoons, cartoons even ONE ACT PLAYS for crying out loud. Even so, I'm happy to see this negativity channeled into something creative.

by Erik on 1/12/2010 @ 12:39am | This Tacomic is so complicated. It needs a corresponding Venn Diagram to assist the explanation. Do you have a conflict of interest RR in sketching this Tacomic as you were one of the "Tacoma 44"? |
by fredo on 1/12/2010 @ 1:06am | Marty's gonna want to buy this tacomic for sure. |
by morgan on 1/12/2010 @ 6:13am | I have a feeling Marty is going to go broke if he buys every Tacomic that comes out about the city council during the next four years! Whether you believe in The Magic Dart Theory or not, the Eight Who Remain will be grilled TODAY! blog.thenewstribune.com/politics/2010/01... |
by NineInchNachos on 1/12/2010 @ 8:07am | a comment from my face book: Tressie Ruth: ha ha ha...my favorite line "Fey added. "I didnt consider it to be voting on finalists. You know, it's supposed to be confidential. We're dealing with real people and there are emotions involved, so we're trying to be sensitive to that during this process." Yeah, Jake, how about being sensitive to the voters "emotions"? So, dude, now is the time that I must inform you that your pants are so on fire. by fredo on 1/12/2010 @ 9:15am | City Council observers may wish to note that the interivews are being conducted during the noon study session and not during the evening council meeting. Both meetings are televised on TVTacoma channel 12. Will the council use either occasion to apologize to the public? Set your DVRs. |

“I think it was important for the City Council to move on and not be under the cloud of that issue or any ongoing litigation,” Pauli said of the reasons for the settlement. On Jan. 13, the newspaper sued the city, arguing that the Tacoma City Council violated the state’s Open Public Meetings Act that prohibits vote-taking in private during an executive session convened Jan. 6 to discuss applicants for two vacated council seats. |
