Tacoma is taking steps to be more Food Cart friendly, yet we're not attracting applicants to the pilot program as much as we had hoped... The Tacomic suggests finding a cart niche within an established supply/demand consumer base. 1. BATH SALTS 2. CHICKEN SOUP 3. FOUR LOKO 4. CANDY CANE ROCA 5. [BONUS CART] LIES.

by NineInchNachos on 5/3/2011 @ 1:47am | "Lies" fit in a smaller space better than "Bullshit Milkshakes" |
by cisserosmiley on 5/3/2011 @ 5:01am | why have carts when we have so much empty space...it is time for tacoma to emminent domain the vacant spaces and give title to individuals engaged in anything but ghost owning a vacant space. the supreme court has upheld such actions (kelo v city of new london, ct) |
by Jesse on 5/3/2011 @ 6:57am | What cissero said (again). |
by fredo on 5/3/2011 @ 7:05am | left out Bimbos World Famous Super Secret Spaghetti Sauce "so good the City Manager was willing to shell out hundreds of thousands of tax dollars to get his hands on it" |
by morgan on 5/3/2011 @ 7:20am | Mecca flavor!? Ewwwww!
ps- poor guy, just give him some bread! |
by cisserosmiley on 5/3/2011 @ 7:30am | can we not public records request the bimbo's recipe? if that doesn't work my buddy jeff will give it out just cause |
by NineInchNachos on 5/3/2011 @ 7:50am | Should give the info request Bimbos sauce thing a try! Also what Jesse said. Squatter Entrepreneurs ? (is kinda like spaceworks but without the retarding committee filter) |
by cisserosmiley on 5/3/2011 @ 8:06am | nanos gigantium humeris insidentes
i vowe to be the first squatter entrepreneur. i will seek out a property with a long time owner who lives out of the area. i will paint and sign my new building and do business there. if the former owner says anything it will be my boys against his, and mine will win. this is the only way tacoma will be rebuilt, on the shoulders of giants, learn a new tacoma way |
by Mofo from the Hood on 5/3/2011 @ 8:14am | I was expecting some pictorial allusion to Rene Descarte because of your personal interest noted by your recent Urban Explorer Blog link to a current BBC 4 broadcast.
It is doubtful that a relationship exists between Descarte and Tacoma Food Carts. But let's keep in mind that certainty and truth are two different categories. I don't have to know with complete certainty that it is true Descarte is the inspiration for Tacoma Food Carts. I understand that my standard of precision may not satisfy you in terms of an adequate system of thought. Your method of inquiry and standard of assertability may reveal a different conclusion regarding the relationship of Descarte to Tacoma Food Carts. But until my belief in the influence of Descarte on Tacoma Food Carts is falsified, there is no reason to assert the irrationality of the belief. |
by NineInchNachos on 5/3/2011 @ 10:13am | My Dear comrade Mr. Mofo, Entrepreneurship should not be limited to food carts. Feed ya Mind! ![]() Here is a prototype street vendor service my brother in Alaska is developing in his publicly funded laboratory... I believe the citizens of South Puget Sound could greatly benefit AS WELL from this type private enterprise now that 'starve the beast' types have screwed us all. Let's get this going for Frost Park! |
by Jesse on 5/3/2011 @ 11:34am | Can you photoshop mayor strickland in the booth above? |
by cisserosmiley on 5/3/2011 @ 11:47am | i have been inspired...jeff smeed will let me borrow his ice cream bike tue. and thur. when i will consult on employee pension programs from said bike on the corner of 12th n pacific, thanks new city rules about street vendors |

by fredo on 5/3/2011 @ 5:14pm | where does that guy wash his hands? |
by Crenshaw Sepulveda on 5/3/2011 @ 6:42pm | and go to the bathroom, maybe i don't want to know. |
by NineInchNachos on 5/3/2011 @ 6:49pm | pre-packaged food, different set of standards. |
by Mofo from the Hood on 5/3/2011 @ 8:58pm | There is no need to impose limits on the minds of enterprising Tacoman's. Why divide the population between those with licensed foodcarts and outlaws like myself who can provide mental nourishment from a well-equipped chrome shopping cart.

by fredo on 5/4/2011 @ 10:43am | OK, prepackaged food, different set of standards.
I guess if the food is prepackaged it really doesn't make any difference if the guy has washed his hands recently or not. Maybe his other jobs are spreading Tagro and pumping septic systems. But how about this Homer Simpson inspired question? Where does the vendor or his customers go to the bathroom. Is that prepackaged too? Do they make pee pee in the flower bed? Take a big #2 in an old Slurpee cup? |
by cisserosmiley on 5/4/2011 @ 10:56am | the city has asked food cart customers to apply pet laws to their own waste...if you eat at a cart bring a plastic bag for yourself, then take it home and flush that waste because poop in the landfill is not allowed |
by gritz thekat on 5/4/2011 @ 10:58am | roll it in chopped peanuts |
by NineInchNachos on 5/4/2011 @ 11:02am | it depends™ |
by fredo on 5/4/2011 @ 11:13am | right on nachos:
Depends underpants: Enough capacity for Astronauts, enough capacity for chalk artists. There's a depends brand undergarment for every occasion, a little dribble or a big Marilyn Strickland. |
