Welcome to FREEDOM FAIR! Are you pumped up with your Freedom Fair t-shirts? The idea for this cartoon came to me after reading this article in the News Tribune about Freedom Fair event organizer pulling hot dogs out of Commencement Bay and complaining that event goers have little understanding of basic sanitation. The Tacomic is stuck in a litter rut right now. Perhaps to bring awareness just in time for Freedom Fair? Don't throw your god damn hot dog in the ocean. Did you know there are children starving in North Korea right now?

Fireworks crowds moderate. Trash collection abundant. Young lady short-shorts ultra-short. Super enjoyable evening atmosphere despite the horrid patriotic music selections. First encounter with 'coinforce.com' rocket car--violent loud explosions and fire... as it scooted maybe 15 feet across the sidewalk under restraints. Perhaps a metaphor for the world's last superpower? After the rocket car powered down, sidewalks opened and folks strolled on with new appreciation for liberty. My personal favorite thing was walking back to the car through Puget Park gulch in blind darkness save for Ms. Darcy's high-powered Chinese flashlight from Harborfreight tools. |
