See it in 3D! A Revolution in the way we make City Councilmen... AVATAR! The link only works because these two creatures share the same DNA. Do not question the Hollywood pseudoscience behind this cartoon! Also you'll probably be seeing this metaphor used again and again in political cartoons. Maybe I can be the first. EVEN SO, I thought of doing this while waiting for the bus. See, the more you drive the less intelligent you are. That's how come I ride the bus. Gives me plenty of time to think. Maybe the new Lonergan won't be an AVATAR of the Executive Excellence Party... time will tell. Have you taken the poll? MEANWHILE: Welcome to the future! TWENTY TWELVE!

by Thorax O'Tool on 1/5/2010 @ 11:28am | I don't understand this one |
by Crenshaw Sepulveda on 1/5/2010 @ 11:35am | I understand and it is brilliant. |
by Thorax O'Tool on 1/5/2010 @ 12:01pm | Care to explain then? |
by NineInchNachos on 1/5/2010 @ 12:03pm | the drawing is a mocking comparison to the new Hollywood blockbuster film where a man's electric-brain-thoughts are injected into a thoughtless-meat-husk using super-expensive special fx. Here though things are a bit low tech. The wise Mike Lonergan's brain influencing the rookie slave brain of his son. Joe Lonergan is an avatar. |
by NineInchNachos on 1/5/2010 @ 12:08pm | Mike Lonergan is a crippled human space marine controlling the hulking body of a genetically engineered alien-hybrid! Do i need to draw you a picture? |
by Thorax O'Tool on 1/5/2010 @ 12:15pm | This would probably make a helluva lot more sense if I saw the movie. |
by NineInchNachos on 1/5/2010 @ 12:17pm | you can stay up to date on popculture AND save money just by reading movie spoilers on wikipedia |
by Thorax O'Tool on 1/5/2010 @ 12:20pm | hmmmm.... sounds like an idea worth investigating. |
by NineInchNachos on 1/5/2010 @ 12:24pm | reading the lame endings of movies will do more to hurt the industry than piracy! |
by marumaruyopparai on 1/5/2010 @ 9:45pm | I'm intrigued by the rather cumbersome and barbaric looking brain-avatar interface in the form of a two-prong plug. Ouch. |
by Crenshaw Sepulveda on 1/5/2010 @ 10:17pm | We'll have to call him Joltin' Joe Lonergan. |
by NineInchNachos on 1/6/2010 @ 8:26am | Interface is inspired by an old 80's sci fi movie called Circuitry Man, in particular the character called 'Plughead'
|
by ixia on 1/6/2010 @ 9:19am | I see there are a couple more connections on Joe's receptor. A clever way to increase the council by two more members without added wages. Innovative recession thinking. |
by fredo on 1/6/2010 @ 9:38am | Last nights city council meeting provided ample evidence that RR's concept has been fully realized.
The voters were promised new leadership with fresh promises of accountability. What we saw was an immediate capitulation to the earlier council's habit of spending money like a drunken sailor. |
by NineInchNachos on 1/6/2010 @ 12:30pm | I hope the water front path doesn't get killed after they voted to delay funding it. |
by fredo on 1/6/2010 @ 10:18pm | The list of applicants for the two open seats on the council has been whittled down to eight.
It has been determined that these eight have skulls which will most appropriately accomodate the council avatar feed, which Connie Ladenburg has graciously consented to provide. |
by Thorax O'Tool on 1/6/2010 @ 10:21pm | C'mon... did we really ever expect City Council to NOT put "one of them" into the council? The results of the last election pretty much preordained that.
Meet the new boss, same as the old one. |
