Meet Joe Izenman, the Tacomic's most loyal fan of all time. This dude probably owns more original Tacomic Art than anyone I can think of. Well the buying art stopped right about the time he met a very special lady and he began spending all his money on Ikea furniture or something. I'm not bitter! I'm happy for them. You could say these young people with old souls found each other at the Frost Park Chalk Challenge... they're married now. Yes, these young people decided to take the plunge and enter into a civil union life-partnership. I approve! You can't beat the joint tax filing. Which brings me to the point of this Tacomic.
"DEAR COMMANDER RR, CAN YOU DRAW JOE AS A TACOMA ACTION FIGURE? HE'S ALWAYS WANTED IT. HE TALKS ABOUT IT IN HIS SLEEP. IT FREAKED ME OUT AT FIRST, BUT NOW I REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS. CAN YOU GET IT DONE BEFORE OUR WEDDING NIGHT?"
Why yes of course I can! I not-a-factual-statemented to the future Mrs. Izenmania (at the time) several months ago. Well, Uncle RR never lies kids! He's slow as the hills, but he never lies. Ever. Period. And so I present to you, The Izenmania paper doll Tacoma Action Figure. ALL EXPENSE PRE-PAID! This is way better than buying indulgences. NOTHING says "I FUCKING LOVE YOU" like a custom built action figure tacomic... genuine and original. complete with a certificate of authenticity. Teacher strikes? Donald Rumsfeld confrontations? Aesthetically-challenged Goddess of Commerce statue disrobing? These are all inconsequential topics compared to the power of TRUE LOVE. I said TRUE LOVE! fin.

by Mark Monlux on 8/30/2011 @ 6:20am | No mention of his eco-friendly bicycle of motion? I completely understand the bazooka. |
by NineInchNachos on 8/30/2011 @ 8:03am | good catch on both comments. He's been waiting a long time. And the action bicycle is sold separately. |
by NineInchNachos on 8/30/2011 @ 8:29am | Will be back next week with all new cartoons!

well you can see Joe on his bike here... comics.feedtacoma.com/tacomic/hey-now-th... well Joe WITH his bike. |
by izenmania on 8/30/2011 @ 9:02am | I did not know that I was the secret identity of the Flaming Carrot... |
by izenmania on 8/30/2011 @ 9:09am | Mark, when's the last time you saw an action figure packaged with his vehicle? Clearly my trusty steed, Urban Commuter, is sold separately for Maximum Profit. |
by NineInchNachos on 8/30/2011 @ 9:29am | Also, I'm personally not bitter about not even getting a wedding invitation to the big Izenmania wedding. Not bitter about seeing Gini, Kevin and Stowe Family all hanging out eating cake and laughing about the times. Oh the times. You know... it's not like I ever did anything useful for the izenmanians... i dunno like help ream your guitar knob holes with my fantastic shop tools.
@#$%()! |
by troysworktable on 8/30/2011 @ 9:53am | I'm seeing a niche career in the making, or a farmer's market hobby at the very least. Instead of drawing caricatures of tourists at Universal Studios or Disneyland for $10 or $15 a pop, RR can draw "action figures" for $40 or $50, depending upon how many accessories/weapons/heads the sitter requests. |
by izenmania on 8/30/2011 @ 10:04am | Now listen RxR, if I invited every single person who ever reamed my knob holes, I... uh... hang on, I think that sentence got away from me... |
by NineInchNachos on 8/30/2011 @ 10:25am | I will bring a TV tray and draw the people on post-it-notes... or ruled college notebook paper! |
by Erik on 8/30/2011 @ 11:26am | Nice. Well earned! Bowler hat in action (6/27/2008): ![]() www.flickr.com/photos/tacoma-urbanist/26... |
by NineInchNachos on 8/30/2011 @ 12:01pm | ah the bowler looks so fresh and new. No worries, Joe can probably find a new one at Wal Mart that is coming to our neighborhood. |
by smalltown on 9/1/2011 @ 3:25am | Truly this is a thing of beauty! Thank you RR. |
