A: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.
Hello Friends! We're taking a break from the 24 hour comic to bring you some topical information. Listen up! Seems there is a special election coming up November 3rd. Pierce County Auditor position will be up for grabs using the most advanced system of voting called: Ranked Choice Voting or IRV which means: Intensely Radical Voting. Make sure you pick WILL BAKER as your FIRST CHOICE, JULIE ANDERSON as your SECOND CHOICE and leave the third slot blank. The last thing you want to do is vote for JAN SHABRO. JAN SHABRO is an evil republican appointed by a council of evil republicans. Now Jan Shabro's current auditor job should have rightfully been appointed to a democrat, but the position was recently changed to NON-PARTISAN (a fantasy), The Democratic Party of Pierce County tried to sue in court, but a damn activist judge threw out the case. JAN kept her job.
EVEN SO, if anyone has the will power to pull JAN SHABRO out of her calcified tube-worm cask, it is Tacoma's own JULIE ANDERSON. Now I know what you're thinking... the Julie Anderson who wants to bury the dome district? Sadly Yes. the Julie Anderson who wanted to destroy the WSHM Business Interests via opposition to the stupid brick wall in front of the Bridge of Glass? Smiley Face YES :) ! Hey do you remember when she said the City Council could do nothing to prevent the expansion of the ICE Detention Facility on the Tide Flats to a room full of anarchists, then went ahead and voted to approve the expansion permit? Yeah. Her candidate debates with the Traveller were delightful as well.
The Pierce County Auditor race has received very little press; however, a little bit of gold is better than a whole berm of nasty dirt.

"The Reject Amendment 3 campaign in Pierce County believes voters deserve the opportunity to choose between more candidates on the ballot. The incumbent led Pierce County Better Government League (PCBGL) and Secretary of State Sam Reed have come out in favor of fewer candidates and fewer choices. In particular, the proponents of Amendment believe voters should have a maximum of two choices on the ballot and want us to shift to a system of voting which about 50% of the time results in only one candidate on the ballot." rankedchoice.blogspot.com/2009/10/how-ma... |
by Erik on 10/13/2009 @ 12:49pm | Julie is one of the best urbanists on the city council and she has my vote in November.
Without her actions on the WSHM wall issue, we would have had a brick wall there. She even wrote an op ed on the WSHM wall issue opposing it. Kudos for Julie on that many many other issues. Julie also led the effort on council to revise and remove much of the onerous off-street parking requirement for downtown and the mixed use centers. Vote for Julie Anderson! www.julieanderson.org/ |

by NineInchNachos on 10/13/2009 @ 2:23pm | I hailed Julie Anderson's actions towards the WSHM brick wall, which made it painful to reconcile her position on the earthen sounder wall.
Vote Julie! |

by NineInchNachos on 10/15/2009 @ 11:46am | Jan Shabro works to undermine Ranked Choice Voting. No wonder auditor is such a handy political position... blog.thenewstribune.com/politics/2009/10... |

Re-Elect Julie Anderson Pierce County Auditor In 2009, a special election was held to fill a vacancy in the Pierce County Auditor's Office. I was privileged to be elected! Now, in 2010, I begin my campaign to ensure that County residents continue to receive the best elections, recording, animal control, and licensing services. This time, the term will last four years! I bring fair and practical leadership to Pierce County government, as well as the management experience to run an efficient, innovative office. Help us make a statement. Pierce County wants an independent, dynamic leader in the Auditor's Office! Thursday April 29 at the Speakeasy Arts Cooperative, 746 Broadway, Tacoma, WA. 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Constituents tell me every day that Pierce County needs my combination of professional administration, nonpartisan demeanor, and executive management experience. And I want to hear what you have to say. Tell me what's important to you and where you stand. All my best, Signature Julie Anderson |
