by NineInchNachos on 9/4/2007 @ 12:12pm | Hello Reader! some of you have complained that there is no label on the airplanes explaining who killed the LID; however, if you are an aviation history buff the planes are clearly WW1 British Sopwith Camel's of the Royal Air Force. If you are one of those people who believe in metaphors, and want to spoil the ambiguous elements of this cartoon I've created to tease out debate, then in your imagination let the planes represent Penis-Melting Agents of Zion (or Menstruation-Phobic Islam-o-Fascists depending which side of the isle you're on) . Thanks. |

Yes, of course, that was obvious. The metaphor potential was in the entity/persons in present day time in Tacoma who shot the LID down and some reference to them on the wing. Still a good Tacomic: "The LID was shot down like a blimp being attacked by airplanes." Ok. |
by NineInchNachos on 9/4/2007 @ 12:59pm | Actually shot down like a rigid airship being attacked by biplanes would be a more provocative description. |

Possible major shake up at Tacoma City hall According to City of Tacoma sources at least six members of the Tacoma City Council have requested an unheard of 60 minute Executive Session with only their employee City Manager Eric Anderson this coming Tuesday to discuss personal matters. If our sources are correct and we believe them to be either today or tomorrow Public Works Assistant Director Craig Sively will be asked by City Manager Anderson to retire or be fired over the voting debacle on the Broadway LID. Also on the hook could be Public Works Director and Assistant City Manager Bill Pugh as Sively’s direct boss for the same reason. Chief City Attorney Elizabeth Pauli it has been reported is also on the hook for her role in failing to properly supervise Assistant City Attorney Cheryl Carlson who failed to notify all parties in the Northeast Tacoma golf course development lawsuit. With two weeks of City leave to go Carlson it has been said could be fired to stay the city’s sucking chest wound. Sources have also gone as far to indicate that Eric Anderson’s job as City Manager could also be on the line. Anderson is out of town a lot one councilmember stated. “Do you suppose he is out job hunting? Look what the council did to Corpuz and Walton.†Anderson, Pauli, Pugh and Sively could not be reached for comment prior to this release. |
