Hey Kevin, Like the videos... very cool kinda motivates me to want to post videos!

Even so I had an interesting Idea for feed tacoma vs. the listserv... imagine if you subscribed an email address to the listserv say tacomaart [at] feedtacoma.com and whatever email that address gets from the listserve it posts online with the standard pagination: TODAY, YESTERDAY, THIS WEEK and then you could hook that up to an RSS feed even?

would be good for people to see what's happening in tacoma that don't want to subscribe getting that stuff in their own inbox.

speaking of RSS feeds any word on the tacomic RSS? :)

Anyway it would be awesome to keep a record of listserv activity just for a historical reference... kinda like how some libraries keep magazines from wayback.

RR,

Nice to see a Tacomic rated G again. :)

Love the perspective and shading (and gloss) on board.

The larger pieces are great. Identifying TAG with a knocked over piece as you did was pretty good as it a) didn't browbeat the viewer with the name, b) mocked the slogan, c) allows the viewer to identify a chess piece which would have normally been too remote to see had it been on the board, and d) showed that TAG was out of the game.

I am still unable "get" all of detail in the picture.

1) What is the far bishop piece next to the MOG piece?

2) What is the Knight supposed to be next to the 4 Wimps?

3) What does the mouse x 100 represent across the board?

4) Is the figure standing on top of his horse you or any other recognizable figure?

I believe the "mouse" is a Monkey and it represents the 100th Monkey folks. :)

1) Broadway center for performing arts
2) The Chihuly
3) It's actually a long tail monkey multiplied by 100 symbolizing the 100 Monkey Party lovechild of resident "wacky" artist lynn Di Nino who is the figure in NO. 4.

The listserv touts that all postings are equal... that it is one of the few places where the snooty big whig institutionalized art establishments are on a level playing field with the outcast artists and independent galleries.

yet an anthropomorphic pig might point out that "All are equal, but some are more equal than others."

even so, there are other notable tacoma artists rendered in this cartoon. however in the interest of mystery I will not identify them.

Also: Erik sir All my cartoons are 'G' Rated wholesome goodness!

Thanks for the explanations.

Looks like one of the "artists" is a guy playing bongo drums. I tried to find the guy in a suit with a bag over his head that you like in your film or a puppeteer. No luck.

I did get the them of the cartoon but am dissappointed that I failed to identify the 100th Monkey.

I'm disappointed in you, too, Erik. You MUST be slipping.

**still shaking my head in bleary disbelief, drunk with the disappointment of Erik missing something**

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

;)

"still shaking my head in bleary disbelief,"

Really, tacomachickadee. Help us out with your "art" skills.

Please identify the remaining pieces of the chess set set (including the pawns).

:)

(Nice to see you picked up the "Fawn/YLT" drawing from RR's collection. You have obviously have an eye for art and know what would compliment your art collection.)

The sarcasm is getting too deep for me around here ... I think I'll wade out now.

Enjoying the cartoons, and the critiques ...

I clearly recognize one of the distant pawns as Terry J., formerly of Terry's Office Tavern on Proctor. I just don't understand the context, as he's not known by me to be an artist.
