Do you have a problem with Whitney? I won't go into the usual arguments of how strong women are labeled as bitches and such. Your drawing of her is not funny, it's offensive, it's just plain rude, and she deserves better treatment than that from you. The obvious comparison of course is how would you like to see your lovely wife portrayed this way?

If the job of a political cartoonist is to step on a few toes then RRs cartoon has definitely succeeded. However, I didn't see anything mean spirited. It was delightful and insightful.

Wow. A lot of content there.

I expect this Tacomic to soon be hanging on the wall of the Tacoma Daily Index.

This is not a Sarah Palin lipstick on a pitbull moment.
I do not hate 'strong women'.

Anyone who has not had their comments on exit133 removed because of their abstract 'inappropriate nature' OR has not been spanked in public with a shrill 'come on people please stay oooon topiiiiic!' I do not expect you to understand my outrageous drawing referencing exit133--A cartoonist's futile act of revenge against a blog hatchet-man and nothing more.

Yes, I consider the fine folks at exit133 my friends.
Yes, I draw mean spirited cartoons of my wife all the time.
It's the best way I can express my faux rage.

We here at The Melon are appalled that Mr. Anderson chose to draw us in the way we are rendered. Firstly, it's "The Melon" not "The Melon Online." Perhaps our URL suggests otherwise, but everyone knows a URL is of no importance when you're the first google term for "The Melon". For shame, Mr. Anderson!!! How web 1.0 of you.

Secondly, displaying us as a balloon, which implies that we're full of hot air is offensive. We are not full of hot air, sir. We are a meat-popsicle dripping with insight... That is disrespectful. How would your son like it if you were a balloon...actually that would make a good sitcom - My Father the Balloon. DON'T EVEN THINK OF STEALING THAT MR. ANDERSON. I know how you work.

Thirdly, to display us as the devil, a factitious, religious symbol of sin, evil and disobedience...I guess that's sort of accurate.

Finally, to suggest by size ratio that The Melon has a comparable significance to Exit 133 or Feed Tacoma and more so than City Arts is not only violently inaccurate but just plain rude to organizations with more money and more people involved.

Good day, Mr. Anderson.

<br />Raven Discovering Mankind in a Clam Shell

I am offended that RR would steal the Alaska Native Haida's trickster myth: "Raven Discovering Mankind in a Clam Shell" and pass it off as a Puget Sound area tribe myth referencing the Tacoma Weekly. If RR hasn't got enough time to learn local creation myths perhaps he shouldn't bother drawing creation myths in the first place.

I am disgusted at your portrayal of the majestic wooly mammoth as an endentured beast of burden for a neo-liberal corporate news automation android Mr. Anderson, you make me sick and should certainly be ashamed of yourself.

I'll be notifying P.E.T.E.A. (People for the Ethical Treatment of Extinct Animals) of this unforgivable transgression.

Expect protests.

by marumaruyopparai on 4/14/2009 @ 12:36pm
I'll bet it's a strong, self-confident lady wooly mammoth too isn't it, you sexist. You're clearly bereft of any form of moral compass. . .dick.

by marumaruyopparai on 4/14/2009 @ 12:41pm
I retract my last statement, given that it makes me look like a huge moron. That mammoth obviously has tusks.

Fine, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on the sexist thing.
