If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.

Remember they are the "community" bank - at least that's what those nice billboards that were plastered all over Pierce County a couple of years ago said - those billboards with the plug-in, copyright free pictures of "hometown" looking actors..... |

"OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Venture Bank has become the latest financial institution to be seized by the state. The state Department of Financial Institutions closed the bank on Friday, citing inadequate capital and severe loan losses in its decision. Shortly after the closure on Friday, DFI said the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) would be the receiver of Venture Bank.
