Glad you can post stuff here on FeedTacoma where the speech is still free, unlike some other sites I can mention. No love in the numbers for you, and apparently me as well. I think I'll set up my blog called exit134, for people that have gone too far.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.

Thomas Jefferson, (Attributed)
3rd president of US (1743 - 1826)

"The reality is we are not going to raise this capital in 60 days (as specified in the FDIC order) and they (FDIC) know that," Parsons said. "It isn't going to happen by April 14. And Tuesday will come and go, we will still be operating."

Don't you love that kind of arrogance? Another non-story with more dis-information from the Venture Bank gang.

Remember they are the "community" bank - at least that's what those nice billboards that were plastered all over Pierce County a couple of years ago said - those billboards with the plug-in, copyright free pictures of "hometown" looking actors.....

"When Barack Obama was running for President one of his favorite sound bites was that any financial bailout should not just involve Wall Street, but Main Street, too – that the government’s responsibility was to help both bankers and homeowners. But now that the election is won and Obama is in office, the two streets are still being treated very differently, with Main Street getting a lot less help from Washington."

The DuPont-based bank stated it was unable to timely file the first quarter financial results because it has not completed its financial statements for the period. It is also still working to complete the year-end 2008 10-K filing.

"This has been a strange time with the new rules and the changing of the rules," said Venture's Senior VP for Marketing Joseph Beaulieu.

dude did I call this one or what..

"OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Venture Bank has become the latest financial institution to be seized by the state.

The state Department of Financial Institutions closed the bank on Friday, citing inadequate capital and severe loan losses in its decision.

Shortly after the closure on Friday, DFI said the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) would be the receiver of Venture Bank. And the FDIC, in turn, sold the bank to First-Citizens Bank & Trust Company of Raleigh, N.C."

"The former directors of Venture Financial Group, the one-time bank-holding company of Venture Bank, failed in their duty to carefully manage employee stock ownership plans, resulting in an estimated $12 million loss to those retirement plans, according to a class-action lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court."
