Not sure if this would be my kind of sushi restaurant given the recent allergic aversion to raw fish I mentioned last week. Seems where ever those cleaning bubbles decided to head this week the sushi looks like it could eat you! Whatever the case, there's a point to all this:
Next Wednesday night, Nov. 17 at 6pm join the creators of SCATS for their first ever [well, anything really] sushi night at Gari of Sushi on S. 38th in Tacoma! I will face my fears and find non-tuna sushi that will again bring sushi back into my life. And if that's not enticing enough, there will be prizes! Study up 'cause we'll be giving a SCATS fanatic quiz the winner of which will get to pick the next locale for our ongoing illustrated conversations AND a signed SCATS #1 print to call their very own. Here are the details:
SCATS Sushi Night
Wed, Nov. 17 @ 6pm
Gari of Sushi [ map ]
1209 S. 38th St.
Tacoma, WA
RSVP: kevin@kevinfreitas.net
Please tell, Tweet, or whatever your friends and we'll see you there!

P.S. - I don't believe the sushi at Gari will eat you. Maybe someday when SCATS strikes it big we'll buy but, for now, your own meal is on you.

by Non Sequitur on 11/11/2010 @ 11:30am | Looks like a bad trip I had back in the 70s. |
by marumaruyopparai on 11/11/2010 @ 11:42am | Looks like a spider roll and a spicy tuna roll. |
by jenyum on 11/11/2010 @ 11:55am | www.foodproductdesign.com/news/2010/11/t... "Beaver Street Fisheries Inc., a Jacksonville, Fla., firm, is recalling 5- to 7-pound tuna loins because they may be contaminated with elevated levels of histamine, which can produce an allergic reaction called scombroid poisoning when the fish is consumed, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced." I used to love mackerel sushi, but it scares me now because mercury contamination in mackerel is so out of control. |
by jenyum on 11/11/2010 @ 12:02pm | More on scombroid poisoning:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scombroid_food_poi... If that's what it was, it's the fish, not you. |
