Is that normal for this world? Is it the result of something Nottle did? Or maybe, as the reader we are privileged to understand Animal-speak? |

by InvaderPet on 1/2/2012 @ 12:46pm | @Thorax One strip I had on Flickr (but is no longer up, and I lost the file) showed that the pets speak and act human because of Notle. The strip I made had Kaeley and Spike arguing about something, and Notle was shown frantically looking through a book at the end with a thought balloon that read, "Where the heck is that reverse-anthropomorphism spell?" Since I don't have the original, I'll just redo it. And besides there's plenty of other comic strips where the animals talk and nobody cares. Dilbert... Get Fuzzy... and... um... oh shoot. |

But yeah, I was just curious on why they can talk. I like "looking under the hood" in comics. |

The REAL reason they talk though is because it offers better interaction between a human character and her pets.Look at Garfield. He "think-speaks". It's never clear if Jon understands Garfield or not. In comics like "Dilbert" or "Get Fuzzy", if the pet speaks or insults their owner, the owner hears it. |
