|Thorax, I know what a beeping smoke detector means. What I was getting at (and many people seem to miss this), is sometimes it takes FOREVER to find suitable batteries, because the smoke detector is so picky.|

I was referring to smoke alarms that beep for infinity no matter how many new batteries you try to put in them. Those are the bad ones.
