As the economy continues to decline, struggling local families are being hit even harder this year than last- many cannot afford a Christmas for their children. Traditionally, "Toys for Tots" has stepped in to fill this void- but with donations down by half and requests doubled- fewer children will be served by this program this year than in years past.

What can we do about this? The vMSDE End of the World Ball, an event planned for over two years, will now open tickets to the public- for the purpose of benefitting Toys for Tots in our greater Pierce County area.

Buy your tickets to the ball (online for $35.00, or $40.00 at the door) and know that you will be directly assisting this worthwhile program. Enjoy an evening of celebration while we await the end of the Mayan calendar- and if the world doesn't actually end, at least we will have had an enjoyable evening and have done some good for our community.

You are hereby invited. Remember, December 21st, 2012 at the Tacoma Landmark Center Gothic Ballroom- 8PM- Midnight.

Sorry, we're saving up to pay our new car tab bill!

But imagine the joy on childrens faces around Tacoma when they learn Christmas Day that their parents aren't using their Christmas money for presents but rather to fund a new pot hole beaurocracy at City Hall.

Tacoma's City Hall...the gift that keeps on giving.

I agree, the city has been and continues to be pretty much useless- but you should really come to this event. It's probably the last chance for a very long time to have a "let's pretend everything is okay in the world" evening. After everybody gets hit with the "surprise" payroll witholding restorations in 2013, there won't be much to party about - or with.

Will you join us, Fredo?

Fredo will be unable to make it, he'll be moving to the Cayman Islands before Jan 1st.
