Because green isn't really green until you recycle something really old to new use using what passes for modern technology.

Drawn by Sharpie in just FIFTY-TWO MINUTES during the CLAW Open Swim Public Service Announcement Challenge, Ocryx and Joe here show the advantages of buying local when purchasing an electric powered automobile- and more importatntly, how this choice will SAVE the KITTENS.

Special thanks to Brill #9 for use of his grey watercolor marker, and to Thorax O'Tool for use of his yellow brush marker. Without them, this would have been a significantly colorless and grayscaleless strip.

Electric cars are the #1 silent killer of pedestrians.

There was talk of requiring a speed-modulated "engine noise" generator on EV's, but I don't know what came of that. It would certainly go far to help save BLIND PEOPLE from untimely ends.

In an odd twist, bring back the Red Flag Act.
(Should be popular among the Victorian/Eduardian/Steam Punk set.)

Dave L. - the "Red Flag" parallels are indeed curious, but probably inevitable given the potential change in applied technology in regards to personal transportation issues.

On another point- again with the French spelling of "Edward"? Are you pehaps a frog spy, mon ami? Non? Mon Dieu! Souffle!

"The 1865 act required all road locomotives, which included automobiles, to travel at a maximum of 4 mph (6 km/h) in the country and 2 mph (3 km/h) in towns and have a crew of three travel, one of whom should carry a red flag walking 60 yards (55 m) ahead of each vehicle. "

now that's funny

@Jinx - No, not at all; it was just an ignorant typo on my part.

I think the city needs to build a superconducting supercollider because it will be really forward-looking and cool, too. We can pay for it by closing all the rest of the schools and libraries. A small price to feel good about yourself. How PR0GR3SSIVE!

what do you think the kids at SAMI are doing out there in the woods? I claim dibs on first mini-blackhole!

By the way, the eyeballs of anthropomorphic automobiles should always be IN THE HEADLIGHTS! Do you hear that Pixar? Even Chevron does it better than you!

I think it was a copyright issue.

The people who drive electric cars are kind of like the people who ride bicycles on the roadway. They hate to pay for gasoline and the associated gasoline taxes which fund the roadways. In other words they are, and I hate to say it...haters.

Just don't buy first generation electrical gizmos.
Wait till they work out the bugs and the price comes down.

It's thrifty!

Or better yet. Arrange for a lifestyle where you don't need to constantly waste time going from one place to another. Everything in its right place!
