Our menagerie of gastronomes were all ready to "Do the Puyallup" on a nice rainy Saturday- but the the sun came out- which changed their plans. Did we mention that they don't like crowds?

Tried to feel the fair love w/ regard to the food but ended up waiting in line for 20 minutes for cold greek fries. Blech. Came back with the kids and just went to the cheepest possible stands, which had exactly the same food as all the others.

There is a definite need for variety.

It is not only unfair that there is a toll here and not anywhere else, it is worth a second look as to why? If we let this continue there will be a charge to get into Tacoma from both directions. Isn't this the begining of "Escape from New York" Eventually the Seattle Liberal Elite can just section off T-town with tolls then start exporting their criminals here...wait-they already export criminals here, but those criminals would have to pay to get in and out of Tacoma so probably would just stay close?

The congestion pricing toll to help pay for the bridge is good urbanism. It keeps people from getting a free road to the exurbs and lets them pay some of the result of their traveling choices they make.

Exactly, that is how tolling should work...the question is:
when an integrated region (integrated=many "exurb" locations and many occupational desinations "places to work") has an uneven distribution of pricing, ease of use, and perceived return, then what is the impact of usage. This cartoon explains use goes down when it cost more. Like, i go across the bridge less because it cost more. The question of how Tacoma is being affected compared to non-tolled destinations is a far more pertanent examination of this issue than is tolling itself. Something like, instead of caring how Tacoma looks in a comparison to other urban centers...lets examine how it has changed since tolling began and then compare those changes to other urban centers without tolling. It is important to look at the correct data set here.
