I had a pretty cool idea for this week's but it would have taken a ton of work to pull off... so I gave myself until today to do it and I still didn't get it done. I went ahead and created this timely fake holiday themed DNotD as a replacement. Next week I home to post my original idea. It will be different than any DNotDs that have come before it... and it will be co-written by my son. Stay tuned for the debut of the Adventures of Tigerboy! in DNotD #20... next Monday.

Ah! But do you go to Safeway or the little hide-a-way Connie's Donuts?

I'm a Southern transplant and still get all weak in the knees every time the HOT -- NOW sign lights up at the Krispy Kreme by the mall.

True Story: I once had a Krispy Kreme Donut Birthday Cake... cause what glazed blobs of fried lard need is several layers of frosting.

During the depression the affordable donut was a staple of the unemployed. Now they sell for $10/dozen at KK. The good news is that the statin-variety cholesterol reducing pharmaceuticals sell for about $5 per 90 day supply.

KK suxx0rz. Seriously, Krispy Kreme makes pretty much the worst donut I've ever had... worse than the ones at Safeway.

You want a good donut, you have to go local. It's gotta be Pao's or nothing.

Or maybe Le Donut on 11th near MLK.

Hey now... I am not saying Pao's doesn't make a fine tasting donut. But there is no reason to leet dis a good southern glazed krispy kreme.

I've never been to Le Donut or Connie's Hideaway... but I would be willing to submit to a blind taste test...

You know... for science.

Woutd this be Daddy's DoNut shot of the Day?

All donuts are mere semi-digestible tauroidal bio-matter compared to those obtainable only from Randy's Donuts in L.A.

I've been known to worship at the shrine of Randy's, to be sure as I once lived just about across the street from it. Long live Randy's Donuts.
