Off the shelf!!!

That has to be like a 30 story drop, relative to size.

Well she made it off the shelf.

So other cartoonists have "toys come to life" comics too? Well, I guess it's back to the ol' drawing board!

by InvaderPet on 5/17/2012 @ 7:57am
You might have also heard of a largely unknown animated film called "Toy Story". Came out in 1995.

Poor Britton.

What? Movies too? Next you're going to tell me the Super-hero genre is played out...:I

I love the layout, composition, and framing of this one. Very, very, spiffy, indeed.

It is really dynamic with all the breakouts...the future of toycomics!!!

Why do I keep imagining Biscuits doing the Goofy Holler in the last panel?

by CaptainBritton on 5/17/2012 @ 9:49am
@InvaderPet, much like the original print of Empire Strikes Back, there should be no sound when you fall...That said, the Goofy holler would work if anything would. Good call.

My wife said, "think Wile E. Coyote's fall".

Also this whole next arc was inspired by a note from a "friend" of mine who passed away two years ago. More on this as we get there, but Bob, these are for you, sir...Do Ascended Masters ever talk to any of you guys like they do to me?

by NineInchNachos on 5/17/2012 @ 10:02am
Frank Zappa talks to me in dreams some times.

Has Frank Zappa ever said what the project was he wanted to do with the folks from MST3K?

by CaptainBritton on 5/17/2012 @ 6:39pm
Sadly, Frank hasn't said much for awhile...I heard he was supposed to do the soundtrack for Star Wars originally AND he was a buddy of the great Jack Kirby, so it was probably gonna be tasty!

will ask him next time I visit the land of shadows

One of my favorite pieces of this episode is the "pin pon" of panels 1 and 2.  I can see/hear the ball being bounced upon the racket.  It is very visceral and real.  A great minor detail.
Plus, it feels like a bit of foreshadowing for the end.  I can't really explain why, it just plays that way for me.  Maybe it's the look on Biscuits' face.  A bit smug and sure.  The sound just adds to it.
